Shopping in Hemel Hempstead

Enjoy a bit of olden day charm shopping on the Old High Street, where you will find a range of antique shops and quirky local businesses. The Marlowe’s Shopping Centre is the beating heart of the town, offering a range of national and international stores. The Riverside development also offers a range of popular shops, cafes and restaurants.

Enjoy a selection of shops

Whether you are staying at the Holiday Inn Hemel Hempstead for a meeting, wedding or leisure break, you may need to get to the shops to pick up supplies or souvenirs. Take a short journey to The Marlowe’s Shopping centre to pick up clothes, souvenirs or decorations for your event. The Riverside Development also has a ton of national stores and you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the river after your shopping trip.

Head to nearby Berkhamstead and Tring for a range of unique boutiques and smaller retailers. The villages of Bovingdon and Kings Langley are also worthwhile visits, with pleasing amounts of shops to explore and home-cooked food on offer in many quaint local pubs.

Stay at our hotel

After all that shopping, head to our hotel bar and lounge for a well-deserved glass of wine – it will taste even better with a delicious lunch or dinner, or even a snack! In the summer you can relax outside on the balcony area and enjoy the beautiful views.
